You need to be running at least iOS 9 on the iPhone, iPad or iPod in order for Screen Time to work.
Not sure what version of iOS you’re running? Then check out Apple’s help page by clicking here.

Have you any plans to make Screen Time compatible with older versions of IOS? A lot of us grown ups give our old kit to the kids to use and the older Apple Iphones/Pads wont upgrade to the latest IOS. Loving the Android app btw.

Sorry we don’t have any plans at the moment to make Screen Time compatible with older versions of iOS. We’re not seeing a huge demand for it at the moment, if that changes though I’ll be in touch to let you know.

Sorry Jon, unless iPhone 4 was able to be updated to iO 9 then I’m afraid Screen Time won’t work on there.
